Power Sport Taekwondo has been an important part of our family for many years. Our two boys started young and, through years of dedicated training and guidance from the Grandmasters and coaches, grew into disciplined and accomplished young adults. Their commitment to Taekwondo even contributed to them earning university scholarships.
Today, seeing them become coaches themselves makes the journey even more meaningful. They are now passing on the skills, discipline, perseverance and values they learned at Power Sport to the next generation.
To us, Power Sport is more than Taekwondo — it is a place where children grow, build character and become better versions of themselves.
Power Sport has a very positive and supportive training environment. The Grandmaster and coaches are dedicated, professional and always encourage my daughter and the other students to improve, not only in Taekwondo skills but also in discipline, confidence and self-development.
What I really like about Power Sport is the friendly atmosphere and the way the coaches build confidence in the students. The parents are also very supportive and actively help during tournaments and games.
It feels like more than just a place to train — it's a community where the kids can grow and enjoy learning. Wishing Power Sport all the best with the new website and continued success!
I started Taekwondo in my 40s with weak knees, poor core strength and lower back discomfort. What makes Power Sport special is its supportive environment — the coaches are patient, encouraging and help us improve at our own pace.
A year later, I'm amazed by the improvement in my fitness, strength and mobility. Becoming stronger has also allowed me to enjoy activities like scuba diving that once seemed impossible.
As we get older, staying fit and mobile becomes even more important. For parents waiting while their children train, why not invest that time in your own health too? You don't need to be fit or flexible to start — just determination and consistency. It's never too late to start.
After 15 years of watching my kids train at Power Sport Taekwondo, I finally decided to start in my late 40s. A year later, I'm more flexible, mentally sharper, sleeping better, with improved posture and reflexes.
Thanks to the dedicated, patient and experienced coaches, Taekwondo has become part of our family's fitness routine. All five of us train under the same roof, support each other, and carry the values of respect, discipline and hard work into our daily lives — the very ones we try to live by at home.
I started learning Tae Kwon Do with Powersports under the tutelage of Mr and Mrs Leong at the age of six. Mr and Mrs Leong are firm, enthusiastic and dedicated to raising both skilled and principled students. Powersports students received a great deal of guidance and encouragement from their instructors and seniors. They are expected to behave as model students both during training and in the real world.
Mr and Mrs Leong were proud of academic and extra-curricular achievements. Tae Kwon Do has become a way of life for me thanks to Powersports and Mr and Mrs Leong.
I've been training again with Grace! And despite being a white belt people notice! So I think that says a bit of my training 20 years ago.
My son joined Power Sport Taekwondo first, and seeing his progress inspired me to join the adult class at the age of 47.
I was initially hesitant about starting Taekwondo at my age, but the coaches and members made me feel very welcome. The coaches are professional, patient, and encouraging, creating a friendly and supportive environment.
It has been a great experience for both my son and me. I'm really happy that we can share this journey together and would definitely recommend Power Sport to anyone, regardless of age or experience.
Noah and Ava have been training with Power Sport Taekwondo since they were each 6 years old. Now teenagers, we can see just how much the experience has contributed to their development.
Power Sport Taekwondo has given them far more than technical skills, helping develop their strength, coordination, balance, posture and overall body awareness, while also building confidence, discipline and a strong sense of well-being.
Just as important, they have learned the value of ongoing commitment, consistently showing up, working through their challenges and always striving to improve. They both understand that progress and excellence require effort, patience and perseverance, qualities that reach far beyond their Power Sport Taekwondo roots. They are important lessons for life.
Today, Noah and Ava continue to train and perform well in Poomsae competitions, but what we value most is everything they have gained along the way, including the friendships they have formed, and how those experiences have helped shape who they are becoming.
We are very grateful to Master Leong, Master Yeap, all the coaches and parents we've met along the way for helping to make the journey a great one so far. More to come!
Training Taekwondo since I was 7 has given me more than just another skill outside of academics. It has taught me things that cannot really be learned in a classroom, such as discipline, consistency, patience, resilience, and the importance of staying committed even when progress is slow. Over the years, these lessons have quietly shaped the way I carry myself and become part of my personality, which I think that's what makes Taekwondo so meaningful to me. It did not just train me physically, but also shaped the person I am today.
Powersport has played a significant role in our daughters' development, both as athletes and individuals. The coaches' dedication, expertise, and encouragement have helped them build confidence, discipline, resilience, and a passion for the sport.
Three of our daughters actively compete in Kyorugi and Poomsae, and we were thrilled when one was selected for Malaysia's Virtual Taekwondo Team. Beyond competitive success, Powersport instills important values that extend far beyond the dojang. We are grateful for the opportunities, support, and positive impact the academy has had on our children's lives.
Our family has been part of the Powersport Taekwondo family for more than 30 years. My brother trained here over three decades ago and achieved his Black Belt. In 2018, my twins started their journey and both went on to achieve their Black Belts. Our youngest joined in 2023 at just five years old and is now only one grading away from her Black Belt.
We are incredibly grateful to the wonderful Master Leong and Mrs Leong, both now 8th Dan Masters, and to all the dedicated instructors at Powersport. Their guidance, patience and commitment have made a lasting impact on our children.
More than teaching Taekwondo, they have taught our children discipline, perseverance, respect, confidence and the importance of never giving up. Our children genuinely look up to their Masters and instructors, and we feel very fortunate to have had Powersport be such an important part of their lives.
With over three decades of our family being part of Powersport, we can wholeheartedly say that it is a truly special place and one we are proud to recommend.
We initially looked for a Taekwondo class to help our son improve his agility, motor skills and self-confidence while learning some self-defence. We are very glad we found Power Sport.
What we really appreciate is that the coaches teach more than just Taekwondo skills. They also teach discipline, respect and perseverance. Our son struggled when he first started, but Master Leong and Master Swee Bee were always patient and encouraging. The other coaches are also well trained and very supportive. They understand that some children may take longer to pick things up and continue to encourage them to keep trying. With their support, our son has improved tremendously. He really enjoys Taekwondo and looks forward to his class every week.
Power Sport also provides extra training and opportunities for children who wish to compete at a higher level. Recently, our son did very well in a Taekwondo competition, which was something we honestly never expected when he first started. Seeing how far he has come was a very proud moment for us. The competition also gave us the opportunity to see the strong team spirit among the Power Sport students. They were not only there to compete but also genuinely supported and encouraged one another.
We are very happy with our experience at Power Sport and would highly recommend it to other parents.
Taekwondo has been an integral part of my identity since I was seven. Under Master and Mrs Leong, I learned far more than techniques and physical fitness — I developed confidence, humility, discipline and the ability to develop power with restraint.
Even today, as a cardiologist working overseas, my Taekwondo background continues to stand out. At job interviews and in professional settings, my 2nd Dan Black Belt was often one of the things people remembered most.
I have trained in other martial arts, but none has matched Power Sport Taekwondo. The training combines fitness, teamwork, discipline and friendly competition, while still providing individual guidance and room for everyone to improve.
Power Sport gave me a strong foundation that has stayed with me throughout life. I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking to build not just a stronger body, but also a sharper mind and stronger character.
We've had a really great experience with Power Sport Taekwondo. Both our kids have improved so much since joining, and the training centre is welcoming and comfortable, with a great atmosphere.
The coaches are dedicated and genuinely care about the kids' progress. They always go the extra mile to help sharpen their skills while building their discipline, confidence and perseverance.
What makes Power Sport special is the friendly, family-like environment. We're really happy to be part of the Power Sport family and would definitely recommend it to other parents.
I've been training under Power Sport for about 10 years, so it has definitely shaped me as a person in many ways. The coaches are very dedicated, passionate and helpful during training, which really encourages you to push yourself and achieve excellent results.
I think what makes Power Sport special is the strong emphasis on discipline and respect. These values are taught and upheld throughout training, so apart from improving your skills and getting exercise, you also learn to become a better person.
Power Sport Taekwondo is more than just a place to learn Taekwondo. It teaches students discipline, teamwork and confidence, while the coaches are always supportive and constantly encourage the players to improve and do their best.
During tournaments, the coaches, players and parents come together as one team, staying together and supporting the players even until late at night. This strong sense of support creates a special bond between the coaches, players and parents, making Power Sport feel like one big family.
We are happy and proud to be part of the Power Sport family!
At 56, I thought my fitness journey had come to an end. But watching my children train every week inspired me to ask, "Is there a class for adults? Can I really start at my age?"
That question led me to Power Sport Taekwondo Centre, and I soon realised it was so much more than a martial arts or fitness centre. Under the guidance of Master Leong and Madam Leong, I found a community that welcomes people of all ages, races and backgrounds.
The encouragement from the Master & Madam, coaches, seniors and even the young students has helped me build muscle memory, improve my strength, joint mobility and flexibility and most importantly, my confidence. With their support, I've even made it through two competitions and several grading sessions, all while having fun.
At 56, I've learned that it's never too late to start something new. Why not? Why wait? Come find out for yourself!
I began training under Grandmaster Leong and Grandmaster Yeap in 1989, and they have been far more than Taekwondo instructors to me. They were exceptional mentors who genuinely cared for their students and treated us like their own children.
Through their teachings, they instilled values that went beyond Taekwondo — respect, discipline, integrity, perseverance, and strong moral character. Most importantly, they taught us to be good human beings and always strive to do what is right. These lessons played a significant role in shaping who we are today.
Power Sport is much more than a Taekwondo school. It has given thousands of students the opportunity to grow not only as martial artists but also as members of a strong and supportive community. The impact of Grandmaster Leong and Grandmaster Yeap can be seen in the lives of the many students they have guided over the years.
Today, I am honoured to be a Taekwondo Master and the owner of my own Taekwondo school in Australia. Despite the years and distance, I have never forgotten my Masters and the invaluable lessons they taught me. Their guidance, mentorship, and commitment to developing good character have shaped the person and instructor I am today.
The values I learned at Power Sport continue to influence how I teach my own students. I proudly pass these lessons on to the next generation, helping them build confidence, resilience, and character.
As a Master, one of my greatest rewards is seeing my students grow, overcome challenges, and achieve what they once thought impossible. I understand the importance of strong mentorship because I experienced it myself. That foundation came from Grandmaster Leong and Grandmaster Yeap when I was young.
I will always be grateful for their influence on my life. Their dedication to developing not only skilled martial artists but also people of integrity and strong character is what makes Power Sport truly special. Their legacy continues through the countless students they have inspired, including those of us who now have the privilege of passing these values on to future generations.
It has been a wonderful experience over the past six years. I have been sending my children to Power Sport Taekwondo Club since 2020, and throughout these years, I have seen their dedication and commitment firsthand.
Even during the COVID-19 MCO period, the club took the initiative to conduct online classes for the students. This demonstrated their strong commitment to ensuring that the students continued to learn, train, and stay engaged despite the challenging circumstances.
When it comes to the coaching staff, we are truly blessed to have Sir Harn, Sir Hymm, and Coach Nurin. They are always willing to share their knowledge, experience, and skills with the students, and they genuinely put their hearts into helping them improve.
The emphasis on discipline, perseverance, and consistency has produced positive outcomes — not only in terms of the medal tally, but also in the development of the students' character. I have personally witnessed the training environment, where skills, theory, physical conditioning, and discipline are developed in a well-equipped and conducive dojang.
Last but not least, I would like to reiterate that sending my children to Power Sport Taekwondo Club is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am truly grateful to the coaches and everyone at the club for their dedication, guidance, and continuous effort in helping my children grow, both as athletes and as individuals.
